Dear Sirs,
We are in receipt of your private and confidential lines of the 15th inst., which we have read over to M. Thornley, when he said that it would certainly be interesting to have the particulars you refer to and if you will kindly send them he will see that they are communicated to the Government Department interested. M. Thornley tells us privately he understands that if any of the coaling firms do supply the steamers in question they will not be granted any further permits for shipments from the U. K.
Since writing the foregoing M. Thornley has rang us up on the telephone to request us to add the names of "Hans Jensen" and "Dorte Jensen" to the vessels belonging to the 'Stinnes group' and he likewise desires us to mention for your information that he understands the 'Nyland' whose name already appears under that heading is now at Marseilles where she arrived on June 4th and that the Government will be glad if she can be prevented from obtaining any bunker coal there. This we shall mention to you on the telephone when you come through to us tomorrow morning.
We are, Dear Sirs,
Yours truly,
James Burness & Sons
