Dear Sirs,
In reply to your favor of the 15th ultimo; we regret to say that we have been unable to come across any book entitled "Coals & Collieries". There are several works of this description treating on various coal fields but their value, for general purposes, is not very great as they are apparently exceedingly technical and would be of use only to mining engineers and Surveyors in the various countries treated on. There is no work published of this description dealing with the South Wales coal fields, which we presume is what you are desirous of obtaining.  If you will state your requirements a little more fully, we will make further enquiries and try and obtain for you what you want. For your guidance, all such books are very expensive and difficult to get having been in most instances published by subscription and therefore are all in the hands of Subscribers.
