c/o Lieut.-Colonel Georges F. Doriot,
1 Scott Circle,
Washington, DC
Dear Sirs:
Following receipt of your letter of May 14th, 1940, instructing us to hold at the disposal of The Boston Corporation certain amounts in cash and securities previously transferred to you from the account of Imafiza, Amsterdam, we have been in continuous contact with your Vice-President, Lieut.-Colonel Georges F. Doriot on one side and with The Boston Corporation and the Canadian Custodian of Enemy Property on the other side. Before The Boston Corporation had come to a decision as to whether it should accept title to and authority for the assets held at their disposal on basis of your instructions, the Canadian Custodian of Enemy Property indicated that he would not recognize as valid any transfers made from the account of Imafiza. We have now received a definite confirmation of this attitude by a letter dated April 28th, 1942, of which we enclose copy.
V/e have therefore not only been unable to execute your instructions to hold at the disposal of The Boston Corporation all the assets previously held for your account, but we had also to cancel the transfer of these assets to you which we made upon instructions from Imafiza.
We thought we should confirm all this in writing although Lieut.-Colonel Doriot has from the beginning been fully acquainted with all the above mentioned developments and aspects.
We should be obliged if you would confirm receipt of this letter.
Yours very truly,
Eastern Provinces Administration Ltd
