Dear Sirs,
"Fionia". We beg to acknowledge receipt of your esteemed favours of the 24th and 25th August, contents of which have had our careful attention.
We duly received the manifest sent us by registered cover, and note that further manifests, copies of bills of lading and certificates of origin will be brought by the vessel. We also note that the 100 cases Beer, portmarked Le Caire, are only to be delivered at Alexandria, & not forwarded for your account.
We note that 1.200 cases matches out of the Parcel consigned to Jacques S. Hassan, of our City, were shortshipped through not coming forward in time.
We have received a telegram from MM. Carr Bros. Genoa, advising that the "Fionia" will arrive at ours on Monday morning next, 13th inst, and we are having everything in readiness so that work can be started at once, and discharge completed in the shortest possible time.
