Messrs Worms & Co. - Paris
Dear Mr. Worms,
I find that as you expected, Mr. Georget has written to other Groups and I have before me the copy of his letter to the Groupement of the Saint-Nazaire importers, which is worded in practically the same way as the copy which you sent to me. It is highly probable that this case will be further enquired into.
I had lunch a few days ago with Mr. Stewart, secretary of the Central Executive, and he wishes to have an example made of such cases. As already mentioned there is at present an authorisation for 3.400 tons for Rouen for Group 9, obtained through Mr. Georget, and this is being closely examined by the Local Committee; in the meantime could you find out anything about Mr. Georget, whose address is 43-45 rue de Petrograd and I would also like to know something about Mr. R. Adamowicz, whose address is the same as that of Mr. Georget. Mr. R. A. acts as agent for Messrs Wm. Mathwin & Son, and has been trying to obtain authorisations also for Group 9.
The private & confidential Meeting which had to be held today to consider the coal trade after the war, has been cancelled. To give some idea of our position as regards shipments to France since control was established I have prepared a diagram, of which I enclose a copy.
I am, Dear Mr. Worms,
Yours Sincerely,
W. Torry
