Dear Sirs,
We are in receipt of your special letter of the 25th inst. from which we note that you have decided to open a branch at Beyrouth at once and we beg to tender you our best thanks for taking us into your confidence in the matter (which shall be strictly respected) and we needhardly say we are greatly interested in this further development of your energies, which we hope may be attended with all the success which it deserves and especially from the National standpoint.
When matters have returned to their normal conditions, which from today's developments would appear to be within sight - how far or how near is an open question at present - we shall be happy to make any communication to your shipowning friends in connection with your new establishment which you may desire us to do.
